Try a shallower grip with your thumb, so that way the finer, outer tip of it is contacting the cards, instead of the more fleshy part of it. This gives you more control, as the fleshier area of your thumb can cause some cards to snag and, as you've observed, give you an unwarranted 5-for-the-price-of-one deal.-Kev, The Virts

What you can do is you can SUFFER!!But really, even with a plastic-coated deck you can still practice flourishes even though they may not be up to USPCC standard. For example, I tend to use Aladdin 1001s, which are notorious for having no finish and being stiff and quite difficult to handle. Still, the upside to it is that you get more practice out of it, and if you're able to do flourishes well with a tougher deck, then handling anything else should be a breeze by default.-Kev, The Virts

As mentioned in the 'more info' section in the sidebar, the songs used are 'Laundry' by edIT and 'Lex' by Ratatat, respectively.-Kev, The Virts |
